Neurocad can process an entire source file or work from a targeted capture. Targeted capture is useful when a document contains multiple packages, has a large number of pages, or includes several possible symbols and footprints.

How does Neurocad process engineering files?

Neurocad does more than convert one file extension into another. It decomposes source information into structured engineering specifications.

These specifications enter a shared generation pipeline that determines what needs to be created and how the artifact must be constructed in the selected CAD application. Neurocad then generates the tool-specific commands required to materialize the result as a native, editable asset.

This architecture allows the same engineering intent to be used across different CAD environments without manually rebuilding the artifact for each tool.

How does Neurocad use IPC-2581?

IPC-2581 is a structured PCB manufacturing data format. Neurocad can read and decompose IPC-2581 files into specifications that enter its artifact-generation pipeline.

Because IPC-2581 contains structured information rather than only graphical representations of PCB layers, it can preserve information about the board, components, connectivity, placement, and manufacturing definition.

IPC-2581 is an input source for Neurocad. It is not presented as a separate validation feature.

Are Neurocad footprints IPC-7351 compliant?

Yes. Every PCB footprint generated by Neurocad follows IPC-7351 standards.

IPC-7351 provides guidance for surface-mount land-pattern geometry, including considerations such as pad dimensions, component clearances, courtyard boundaries, and manufacturing allowances. Applying the standard helps Neurocad produce suitable footprints for PCB design and manufacturing workflows.

Engineers should still review generated artifacts against the component manufacturer’s package drawing and their organization’s own library requirements before release.
