Video tutorial: Generate PCB footprints in seconds with Neurocad

This walkthrough shows the full footprint workflow: load a datasheet or package drawing, frame the land pattern, and generate a native, parametric, DRC-valid footprint that Neurocad™ Link writes directly into your EDA library. You review the extracted dimensions before anything enters your design. The checklist below has everything to have ready before you press play.

Before you start, you'll need:

  • A Neurocad™ account. Register here
  • An authenticator app for multifactor authentication, such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator
  • Neurocad™ Link installed and your EDA tool connected (Altium, Cadence, or KiCad)
  • A datasheet or package drawing for the part you want to generate

What the video covers:

  1. Opening the Extract footprint preset recipe
  2. Selecting your source file: a datasheet, package drawing, or image
  3. Framing the land pattern so only the relevant section of the document is processed
  4. Adding a prompt and running the recipe
  5. Reviewing the extracted dimensions and footprint preview before anything is committed
  6. Sending the finished footprint to your desktop, where Neurocad™ Link writes it into your EDA library
