Recovery phrase

Recovery phrase

Your Neurocad account has two layers of security, your account credentials (used to sign in) and a recovery phrase (used to protect sensitive file data stored locally in your browser).

When you first access Neurocad on a new device, a unique recovery phrase is generated for that machine. This phrase encrypts sensitive data, like files you've added, so that it stays protected on your local device. Not all local data is encrypted, just the sensitive stuff.

A few important things to know:

Your recovery phrase is not your password. Your account credentials let you sign in to Neurocad. Your recovery phrase unlocks encrypted file data stored locally in your browser. They serve different purposes.

Each device has its own recovery phrase. If you use Neurocad on multiple machines, each one will have a separate recovery phrase generated for it.

Neurocad does not store your recovery phrase. It exists only on your device. If you lose it, the encrypted local data it protects cannot be recovered.
